Doesn’t Envato have it’s own stats? That would be the most useful one for us.

Stats shouldn’t really matter. You still have to support Internet Explorer 8, whether you like it or not.

Even if the stats say only 0.1% of the users browse with IE. As long as Envato wants it, you gotta do it. :)

I’m not responsible of this data but that wouldn’t be “more useful”, Envato users are mostly designers/devs.

I’m just reminding everybody that you need to support this browser.

@TommusRhodus Yes but not the most important reason.

I wouldn’t mind supporting IE8 for atleast one more year but the stats posted by Ivor includes tablets and phones or just desktop? I guess a responsive theme well tested and optimized for several tablets / phones deserves the escape from IE8 testing :D

Yeah, you’re right. But it would be a good to thing to peek anyways.

IE8 is not that bad, compared to IE6 . Glad it’s not mandatory to support that one.

That’s w3schools’ statistics, you can’t rely on that when it comes to global browser usage.

Couple of days ago i, i saw a nice tutorial on CSS3 and decided to use it on my project. but i found that it was not compatible with IE. how funny!! :P

Still IE don’t support lots of latest technology. so we should say, developers will not use latest technology because of IE users!! so much fun here!! :sunglasses:
