I don’t know if you guys knew about this; I didn’t, so I’m writing it here for future reference. There seems to be a bug in Internet Explorer when playing a cached AS3 file: Progress events don’t get casted at all! I used them in my AS3 preloaders, and a buyer pointed me that the as3 version hangs when refreshing in IE. Well, the reason is that, events not working. Why? Who knows, is IE…in Firefox works like a charm. Damn IE.
Well, the workaround here is to use an enter frame event instead a progress event, that’s all.

you should listen for Event.COMPLETE as well as ProgressEvent.PROGRESS as Event.COMPLETE will fire once the file is loaded whether from the cache or the server…
