hello,

i was wondering how the marketplaces could be better, and decided that all marketplaces lacked the feature of a messaging system within the website. users could contact eachother, a bit like email, but answer all messages within the website, and not a mail client. contactees could also choose a subject, like item support, general message etcetera.

authors could also disable/enable the option, or categories.

Would be useful a private messaging system is really missing form the site, actually there quite a few social networking features that could be included on the site but what you mentioned is the basics that is needed

I also thought about that.

Would be more useful than emailing…

Well, doesn’t have to be that way. As long as there are simple, yet powerful rules which tell you you can not advertise via the PM system, it shouldn’t be a problem. And if there’s a button “Report advertisement” too, nothing to complain imho.

Also, people can already advertise if they really want, via the contacting on user profiles.

I don’t see a particular need for this. Keep it simple, this is not a much needed feature IMO .

+1 Really needed! Now things go to much in the comments of items! After there is to much in comments about bugs & errors of an html or theme, the item will not sell anymore like before.

I second this, if there are just a set of good rules to follow, everything should be fine. It’s great to do this with your buyers to tell them about updates, etc.
