20% thinner * which was done by making the connector smaller.
Has nothing to do with it, the iPods are thinner with the same old connector. :)
The iPods are iPods… they don’t have antennas, radios, and their batteries don’t account for constant radio activity. Don’t be ignorant.

Well, they made thinner devices with the old port. If they really wanted, I’m sure they would have managed to make the iPhone5 thinner with the old port. Saying now that they REALLY needed the new port for a thinner iPhone is a thing I don’t buy. I’m not saying that the new port is not awesome(I actually like the new design – the old port was the ugliest component from iDevices )... I’m just noticing how things work and are advertised. :)

It took them like 6 years to replace the port ONCE . Samsung, for example, has had 18 different connectors in the past 10 years. Why the hell are you guys complaining? At least the Maps are something to complain about considering their problems, the port is a work of beauty if anything. Have you actually seen how small it is in person? It’s smaller than a micro-USB, but with all of the driverless-dock-connection functionality of the old connector.

Not to mention it’s completely digital and reversible (can go in either way.) I find a lot of people posting negative things about the phone do not have one and do not know anything about them. I am not a “fanboy” but facts are facts :) just stirring the pot.

Ill just leave these here as well: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6309/iphone-5a6-sunspider-performance http://www.anandtech.com/show/6324/the-iphone-5-performance-preview

As I predicted on the A6 is making minced meat of the SG3 . Apple knows what they are doing ;)

As we surmised in our A6 Geekbench post, it looks like Apple specifically targeted improvements in the memory subsystem when designing the A6’s CPU cores. The result is the fastest SunSpider test we’ve ever recorded on a smartphone – faster even than Intel’s Atom Z2460 .

That’s for real and probably from here: http://theamazingios6maps.tumblr.com/.

I hate almost all of Apple’s recent software decisions as much as I utterly love their hardware. Dat aluminum feel ftw!

Agreed. They are a software company who makes their own hardware. They hardware is nice looking and ( sometimes ) works properly. But they are lagging with the software. I laughed my head off when i saw apple maps vs google maps + the errors it has.

Sitck with it. Apple will fix it! :)

On the other hand as far as I can see Apple does have newer satellite images (at least the maps I viewed). Maybe there is an iSatellite in orbit :).

Seems like Apple is doing their best to sever ties with Google with the new maps and also leaving out youtube. Sites seem to be loading faster now which is cool, but I’m not crazy about the new Safari debug setup. It’s great if you’re developing on a Mac but for me the old native console was much easier to work with.

I wonder why they removed that console.. :( Was pretty cool to check with it for errors.
