Is there any plan to change all the previews on video hive to HTML5 ? Really annoys me that I can’t preview videos on my iPad.
Videohive doesn’t recode video previews like YouTube for instance. It just takes our FLV files and plays them so authors would have to encode previews in HTML5 or Videohive would need to dedicate some new hardware just for encoding. I’m pretty positive that AfterEffects can’t render to HTML5 (works great for FLV ) so 3rd party software needs to be used as well. MP4 might be a better solution
There’s no such thing as HTML5 format. It’s collection of rules and standards, and formats that HTML5 support are:
MP4 = MPEG 4 files with H264 video codec and AAC audio codec
WebM = WebM files with VP8 video codec and Vorbis audio codec
Ogg = Ogg files with Theora video codec and Vorbis audio codec
So, really no reason not to change previews from flv to mp4. Really annoys me that I can’t see preview on Ipad, too. And, today, with many of us using iOS, this is really letdown.
Guess my brain classified it as a codec lol. Friday night got me
The only problem left is converting all previews on Videohive to MP4
