Definitely, i’m really not fond of my first couple items lol.
The Dunning-Kruger deals about Actual Performance Vs Self Confidence (at present moment). This differs a lot from looking back past. Obviously with reasonable time gap, everyone has chance to accept the past work as not something complete / capable.
But what actually important is the ability to see the imperfections of just previous day’s work and the ability to improve while opposing the inertia. This is not just about design aesthetics or trend but even functional aspects.
There really are a lot of things that you can improve with today’s designs. I doubt that past designs are not recyclable into something that would look a lot more impressive
Happens to me as well…
This is how I see things: if your work is accepted on Envato marketplace, it means that it’s “good enough”, ie the appropriate level of quality is recognized by review staff. If it got sales, even better, because the quality has been recognized and approved by buyers as well. And if you dislike it now, after a month-two-six months or year or more, while you look back at it from the current perspective, it is actually the best thing to happen, as it means that you’ve improved a lot! After all, life is all about that: constant education and improvement
I am not so sure that routsounmanman’s original post of asking if ”...does everyone think they suck?” was asking about work done in the past. Dunno…but I got the impression that it was more of a question regarding very recent work and confidence in current abilities.
I mean..if your work has not improved from a year ago, then you are doing something wrong. As long as we keep working we will always improve.
I deny support requests because I don’t want to look at my coding.
Makes part from the learning process. This will happen until you get to your maximum skill peak and from there the only way is down. If that happens, when you will visit older projects, you will have a hard time believing that you made such awesome stuff. Fear that time!
