Hey, I wanted to ask is there any way like automated process to capture HDV mini cassettes? Like a rig, for automated process, I have got like 40 or 50 of them and its like 50 hours os sitting and changing them….
What others do ? Is there realy no other possible way ? Just sit there and change them inserting them to camera one by one ?
Yes there IS!!! You send me all your tapes, pay me 100$ and I’ll automate it for you. I will also send all captured footage from those tapes:)
P.S. There is a way out from any situation when you know Kamasutra.
Yes, you can automate the capture via Premiere, FCP or Avid. I use Premiere so, either way, in Premiere, goto File, Capture. You can set in and out clip points if you had those logged. Or select Scene Detect and it will automatically break each clip up as there is a new cut detected. So that it will automate the shots for you that way. If you only have a tape deck that has one HDV input then you have to do one tape at a time of course. Or if you have a multi-deck feed then it can roll over. Hope this helps.

PHANTAZMA can you please give me some links ? I know what I need i just can’t find it because of english technical words, I don’t know how to search for it. Basicly I have got two cameras, both of them records to mini HDV cassettes. We do TV show and I got loads of those now. I need to capture them all. Fast. So what do I need to get so I could put them all in and capture them all at once or maybe leave them at night so it would automaticaly change them and capture them in a row….
Gosh is there any simple way to do it ?
Some links would be very appreciated
cyzer saidHey cyzer, No problem. I would say you may want to start here, in terms of setting up capture in Premiere. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xdwtzk_learn-premiere-pro-cs5-importing-an_school http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UywK6xrba3M

No it doesn’t help
I am doing this for years already. It’s for begginers. Maybe you misunderstood me.
Look I have 50 tapes right ? Now I need to capture all of them. 50 tapes right? So instead of capturing each of them one by one, I need some aparatus or capturer where I put like 6 or 10 tapes and it captures them all overnight when I am at home sleeping.
Is there such device in the world ???
cyzer saidAh yes, I misunderstood. So, you mean, needing a device that has multiple hdv slots in one unit. Say 10, 20, 50, HDV tape slots so you can put them in at once and let them roll over. Got it. I have such units for P2, but you know what, oddly enough, I can not seem to find any decks that have any type of multi-slot HDV . Which, I would think, why wouldn’t that exist. It must. Instead of having to stack 10 HDV units, for instance, why wouldn’t there be a tape deck with multi slots. I’m going to find out from a producer/friend over at one of the networks. I can’t imagine such a device does not exist.

Yes, now I must find out for my own sanity.
Cyser, there is no such devide or it is extremely expensive. Pay somebody locally to do it. I think you can find local service about this so instead of asking the world just check around.
Best Regards, Andrey
