Hey guys, I searched but can’t find the answer.
Is it allowed to buy a PSD template, code it and then sell it here? Do I need to ask permission from the author or not?
Thanks!

No, it’s not allowed unless you have written permission from the author.
You would also have to buy a developer license..no?

Author Tutorial – scroll down to the section What is a Copyright Infringement?.
Check out items 6 and 10.
However, if the PSD author isn’t planning on coding the theme and you have the skills, you could offer him a partnership.
Ok guys, thanks.
Copyright is a difficult area. For graphics, basically if you didn’t make it, you can’t use or alter it unless you are told you can.
While we are on the subject, anyone know of some good and minimal social icons that can be used in premium themes?
Cheers.

Gedy Rivera’s Social set is very nice:

It says $5 per license, but I will quote now: “For themes being resold: Please use only some of the icons, not all.” So rather try sending her an email just to make sure what you can and not do with them.
freshface… good find. Thanks! Those seem simple enough to be used for most anything.
