Hello authors,

We’ve just launched a long-requested feature: the option to be notified by email when someone comments on one of your items!

To turn it on, go to the “My Settings” tab, under “Personal Information & Profile” and have a look for this option:

I never requested the feature but was definitely feeling the need. Thanks :)

Nice :) Good job devs. Hope there would be more improvements and features released soon :D

(At first when looking at the title I thought this is just another feature-request type of topic :D)

The support heavy authors (TF & CC) would want immediately notified only for “replies”. Not for all new comments as they can check it regularly through Dashboard.

Excellent. Would be great to have an (optional) different email address for comment notifications.

EDIT: after turning this feature on I get Mr. “Whoops, Something Broke!” when posting on my own discussion area. Comment still posts though. Issues sending an email to myself? item 2621629 if you can debug. can reproduce.

Definitely a good improvement to the website. I’m just wondering, will it send an email for each new comment, or it will only send one per item / user until we have checked out the comments (like how thread subscription works in vBulletin)?
