Ok, this is my first item, so rejection is not something I havent been expecting but honestly I didn’t think the reason will be design. Maybe there are some principles that I havent been aware of, etc.
Anyway, the reviewer didn’t provide me any concrete feedback because I quote:
This template is not ready for ThemeForest. Your template does not provide a unique enough design with the necessary design quality, features and options to compete in the marketplace at this time. It requires improvements in term of design, visual hierarchy, typography, layout and its aesthetic quality but most importantly, its uniqueness and how the design is executed. At this stage in the design I am, unfortunately, not able to provide more specific feedback other than what I’ve stated above (the design needs overall, general improvements). With further improvements I may be able to provide more specific feedback.
Please someone experienced on the marketplace or a designer-only guy help me get started because I’m kinda lost now. I thought my design is ok. I would appreciate any kind of feedback, general explanation and directions.
And the theme itself:

I think there too many clichés were used: type of Apple style navigation, embossed icons, glossy buttons, obligatory shadows, insets, gradients (in the year of 2012 all of them are quite out of fashion), layout scheme… All these things were used in design many times, something newer, less overused is desirable…
And typography: you apply all faults one at a time: centred text, justified text, full-width text (your line is too long, it is non-comfortable for reading, by the way, here is interesting article how to calculate characters per line: http://www.pearsonified.com/2012/01/characters-per-line.php) but what is good that you do not use tiny font-size.
Probably, it is better to rethink the whole concept, especially if you are going to submit it to PSD category (you provided jpgs, so I assume it can be PSD , not coded website).
Wish you good luck!
It is going to be a coded website.
Yes, the link might be empty because it is on a new hosting and it might take some time.
Thank you, I think I got lost in that web 2.0 virus everybody’s been talking about.
I guess I have to face a full re-design (silly me).
