this thread turned into the same useless discussion – low sales, Flash vs. HTML5 , AS2 vs. AS3 and etc.

in my humble opinion we need to learn how to use the current trends and to be more flexible, not to fight with them, just because the old ways of making money are changing.

HTML5 , WordPress, JavaScript and some other languages and technologies have their own advantages and obviously the trend is to utilize them as a front-end platform which I think is amazing and makes a lot of sense.

On the other hand Flash is extremely powerful and provides incomparable visual capabilities.

What I see is that the flash community needs to make a slight turn toward making great components which will complement some powerful CMSs, which will work flawlessly with HTML5 , which will bring the WOW factor in combination with the languages mentioned above.

For example – a top author from TF purchased extended license of one of our mp3 players. We tried to make some of our video/mp3 players WordPress compatible and I can assure you our sales for the last 6 months are very steady and even they increased. November was our best month.

And finally, I would highly recommend you to try to search Activden for WordPress compatible files: http://activeden.net/searches?term=wordpress&type=files

Well there not too many.

Why not have flip book for WordPress, or image gallery for WordPress, or Christmas cards for WordPress, and many many more?

I am sure that after awhile flash technology will evolve dramatically. Adobe will make big steps. And it is not about you or me, it is about the money Adobe loosing if not adapting to the new trends. In the meanwhile, I’d recommend to all of us, to evolve, to adapt with positive attitude and business approach. Flash is here and will be for ever here. It is irreplaceable technology, just it is matter of time to see new wonderful changes.

I just had some fun spending nearly 30 minutes reading this thread from beginning to the end…

and I must say, the best post is what “ica” says. true, absolutely true… but yet, we must have another option as a backup solution besides flash.

i see it as a moderate success considering it was composed of all flash templates and seeing that the holidays are approaching.

i think it would’ve done better if it had a mix of other flash files like holiday animations, video player, banner rotators, etc.

face it, template is not flash’s strong point.
