I just don’t understand it. I sent in a JavaScript item a little while back, and it was turned down, with the reason being that is was not of a high enough quality for TF, and that a Google search returned free results (obviously they did not pay close enough attention, as a Google search does not return the same thing- as far as I know, I’ve not seen this effect done with anything other than Flash).
This was the file (the demo page):
http://www.labusdesign.com/hoverscroll/hoverscroll.html
It basically allows you to scroll any content without any clicking, dragging, or scrolling controls of any kind.
So anyway, it was rejected, but now I see this new item uploaded today:
http://themeforest.net/item/handscroller/49808
TO MODERATORS : No, I’m not in any way trying to criticize this item, it works great. I’m merely using it to make a point.
But I don’t understand why that item is accepted and mine is rejected. And yes, I’m going to say it- it wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact that that item’s author happens to be the JavaScript reviewer, would it? It may not, but the connection is there nonetheless.
Any thoughts/opinions?
IMO I gotta give it to you, if the approved similar functioning one is live, yours should be too, which both deserve to be in the market.
There are a lot of other items in here, some of which are even worse than free stuff on the web anyways.

In my opinion, your item is better than the “handscroller” item, and therefore I see no reason to reject yours and approve the other one..
Also, the connection between the reviewer who reviewed your file, and that new file is an obnoxious one, I’m not accusing him of anything, but there is an obvious link..
First of all, I honestly think your file should be approved. It’s very useful.
Second of all, as I recently found out, reviewers don’t review their own work.
Then it should be the reviewer who reviewed the reviewer’s work, that should review blabus’s item. Uh, did I make myself clear ? =)

Hey guys—Hopefully, James will pipe in shortly with his reasoning for rejecting the item.

Hehe,
But in the other topic, it says the other reviewers take care of the reviewers’ files.. So, JimmyP’s file should’ve been approved by Jeffrey

Well that’s even worse then, since Jeffrey himself looked at my file as well. This was the email I got (I sent in another item as well):
Hey Bill,
I just showed these items to James, our scripts reviewer. We both felt that they’re not quite what we’re looking for on ThemeForest. For example, the navigation slider isn’t full-featured enough. A simple Google search produces plenty of free results.
I’m sorry that you had trouble uploading; however, these will need more work before being sold with us.
Thanks, Jeffrey

@blabus – I think you’re right in this case. If you’ll resubmit the file, and write “Ok’d by Jeffrey” in the “note to author” section, we’ll accept. I apologize for the trouble.
