You don’t need jQuery for everything. It doesn’t hurt to try some plain old JavaScript for things like isNumeric:

Cool, I think they probably rushed this due to a bug that was causing a lot of noise in the Chrome 16 inspector.
I literally have 1000+ warnings in my inspector right now just by browsing this page:
event.layerX and event.layerY are broken and deprecated in WebKit. They will be removed from the engine in the near future.
Noticed Google have yet to add it to their CDN lol
