A customer of mine and another member here on ThemeForest pointed out that my jQuery Accordion display that utilizes Kwicks was not working in Internet Explore 7 or 8 (and most likely 6 as well). I have tried several different things and nothing seems to help.

I checked the design in Internet Explorer 8 and noticed that it said there were errors in the Kwicks package which I find hard to believe because the error was not being displayed on the much simpler example pages at the Kwicks homepage. So, to make sure there was nothing wrong with Kwicks, i re-downloaded and uploaded a fresh copy which did not help.

Kwicks for jQuery

All help is appreciated!

Thanks, Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I seem to be having the same problem as you. Did you find a solution by any chance?

Colette

I found this thread while searching for a fix :) And found the solution on some site later:

Open the jquery.kwicks-1.5.1.js file (and don’t use packed version, this fix (yeah without spaces but it simply) doesn’t work on IE), find:

container = $(this);

and change it into:

var container = $(this);

that fixed my IE prob. Hope it fixes yours too.

this was perfect! Thanks :)

I’m trying to figure out how to prevent all the im,ages from displaying as the page loads. I remember the same issue with the nivo slider and simply adding some css fixed that issue but I can’t work it out for the this jQuery kwicks.

What was the CSS you added for the Nivo slider? The WP theme I’m working on right now has a choice between the Nivo and Kwicks slider and it really bugs me that the images flash up like that.

If you mean to say that images spill down the page as it loads, then add overflow:hidden to your Kwicks container :)

Thanks digitalimpact but the images don’t actually spill out of the container rather they all just appear for a few seconds and then disappear again.

I think I added something like this:

nivo-slider img {

position: absolute; left: 0px; top: 0px; }

It’s been a while since I made this modification so apologies if it doesn’t work :)
