Kim.com just interviewed on plans to free the internet of government surveillance. He plans to encrypt half the internet, I think that’s brilliant because more privacy, more power to the user and ultimately more true democracy.

You do realize that kim made all that money from that business of illegal file sharing? Does he look to you like a guy that cares for privacy other than for his business model? All he wants is to have a way of doing his old thing: make people share ANY stuff over the internet in return of a cash % made from ads.

He is the guy who’s holding your pirated themes that you complain about so much around the forums
Did you see the interview? I am not saying this guy is great but what if he really does that? I think the way he speaks is somehow in trend with many who are against US policy. And that is a good thing.

Internet is not his dad’s thing that he can pick up half of it and encrypt
RubenBristian saidHe also states that 50% of the content is user private documents. Yes some items could be hosted there but it’s not his fault. Remember we are talking about privacy and not piracy. I am talking about the idea of free internet and not DMCA regulations.

There are enough services to host files the right way. He only needs to have one that can do his dirty job.
I find him probably the worst man for preaching privacy and user rights.
crossroad saidThe internet belongs to those who are interested in paying for it us, we do.

- ISP monthly bill and
- hosting service for your personal/corporate sites.
If we don’t pay, there is gonna be no internet as we know it, just as it was intended for military use.
In this matter, I think the US gov wanted to create a crysis situation to push SOPA, CISPA, ACTA, LOLA and they attacked the biggest file sharing service, but it didn’t work. All the laws above mentioned were rejected by the people and Kim comes back with a new website, similar to previous.
In this crysis Kim won and he is using the crysis created in his own advantage, and that’s not all. He grows great image by preaching privacy, yes, but I think this time is doing the right thing and blaming the ones to be guilty from the start, the US gov. Further more, in the interview, he is teaching people to unite and fight against corporate govs taking over freedoms.
The more people become aware, the more govs are powerless. And Kim knows that.

Agreed, this guy so called kim.com is inspiring piracy. He also earns from TF items sharing for free. He is a thief and robbing our hard works and money also. The money he earns from his megaupload.com and now mega.co.uk, this money is not his even we TF authors have some portion of rights on this money. He must be in jail for the rest of his life then software developers like us may sleep in peace at night.
