Hello fellow authors! We’ve just released a new article to our Knowledgebase along with an update to an existing article as we try to improve guidelines for all authors and provide more helpful information and answers to common questions we receive. Here’s what’s new!
If anyone has suggestions or questions not already covered in either of these articles, we’d be glad to consider them in a future update so please don’t hesitate to let us know in this thread!
ScotWillis tips really help me when I started at AJ, its nice to see those tips updated and within the support site. Thanks!
Thanks for the heads up!
Could you please check the “Extended License Changes” link? It seems it does not open.
In the promotion guidelines, the Extended License Changes link doesn’t work.
How dare they release a new blog and break that old link. Thanks so much, VF! Here’s the link for now and we’ll fix the link in the article later today.http://marketblog.envato.com/general/extended-license-changes-part-1/
^ Thanks. Glad that there is no change on Extended License area right now
Thanks Scott for info
Can I include external affiliate links anywhere on Envato Market? Sorry, this is not permitted. Please see the following article more information:
Can we link to WPML in item details? Because they mostly certify the items that support WPML and we add their link with affilate.
(including linking to items for sale on your personal website)
What am i supposed to do in the following scenario:
- I build a theme, the theme is approved for sale on ThemeForest
- The Theme relies on a free plugin i built
- To extend the functionalities of the theme, the user can purchase addons. These addons are sold outside the Envato Market.
Are you saying i’m not allowed to post a link into the description to indicate to the buyer that the theme is compatible with “Plugin X” and “Plugin Y” and “Plugin Z”, how is the buyer supposed to know that for “X” feature, he has to purchase the addon “Plugin X”? This is basically the same as the themes that have already been approved on ThemeForest and that are compatible either with WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads, specifically some of these themes are indicating that their theme is compatible with these addons and placing the links where the users can buy those addons, and no the addons are not available on the Envato Market.
So, how does it actually work?
