I don’t think facebook is problem – it’s you.

It’s your problem if you got - spammers added to friends - friends who post when they go to the toilet - friends boasting around - ...

I find it very useful for: - private messaging - connecting in groups ( college – sharing stuff & important news, sports activities – why would I need extra app to confirm I’m attending a game of football or even pay for bunch of SMS - following stuff I like / find interesting - ....

People are even complaining they need to update their status/upload pictures ( like update, or you will be banned from facebook lol), check their FB all the time ( like it’s someone forcing you ) ...

I agree though, that there’s a problem, especially with teenagers who can’t live without social networks anymore (fb, instagram, snapchat every 10 minutes and other whatnotapp every 20) but I hate people who blame everyone except themself.

Yo :)http://www.break.com/video/look-up-2605961

That video really reminded me of this – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FMNFvKEy4c

But actually there is an other side too – imagine yourself without all this technology now and you won’t find it better.

In my opinion, the key is to know what’s important to you – I’m personally using those networks and don’t allow them(at least I try) to use me. Facebook can be used for a lot of different value purposes, as were mentioned above – news that interest you, business, connections, even new friends and spouses can be found there and then become ‘real’.

So my two cents – live real life, use social media, just don’t let it use YOU. ;)

I sell apps for Facebook, that’s why I have my personal account, but I do think Facebook and other pointless social networks are making us less human.

Most people on Facebook exaggerate their own lives. Sometimes you check someones profile and they might seem like he/she is living a rockstar life, but when you meet the person in real life is just disappointing.

I never joined Facebook. Eventually I created a business account, just last year, for Parallelus. I found their system confusing and not worth the time to learn. I’ve never made a single “post” or whatever you do on there. I did start using Google+ pages a little bit this year. I find it easier to understand and prefer the cleaner interface. It seems better for sharing specific things related to my business and not just a huge information dump like Facebook. If Facebook disappeared today, I’m not sure I’d notice.

Here’s a short Bible of us… of Non-facebook oldskool users.. from everything you say guys :

01 Even staring into the black dot on an empty wall is more useful than spend your time on facebook (for example, you will raise your level of concentration)

02 A crappy pub and some couple of beers can never be replaced by any social network.

03 Most of the people I see there use it only to show what they don’t have.

04 We have very few time to spend with our family and friends so let’s use it wisely

05 I’m not really interested to read what other people do the whole day :-)

06 I have FB but I only use it for contacting with others because nowadays people don’t even use email to communicate.

07 I don’t post anything and don’t check up on anyone because I feel it’s waste of time.

08 There is no need for involving deeply with such platforms except professional reasons.

So… I left yesterday. Only deactivated the account so if I find myself biting my nails down to the knuckle wanting desperately to know how ‘old school friend number 8’s kid is doing at play school’ I can hop back on and pretend this whole episode never happened.

Just remember that Facebook makes money by data mining. That means they reserve the right to sell any information that you share. That should make it easy to leave.

I still use it to keep up with events/concerts and check what bands and labels are up to. I don’t post or share anything at all.
