Licence question

Hey guys,

I am an exclusive author auf envato.

I have a html site template for sale on themeforest.

No I have exactly the same site as Wordpress template. Am I allowed to sell this wordpress template – which was not approved for sale on themeforest – on another marketplace?

If the wordpress version is not on sale on this marketplace then I will say yes you can do it.

Contact support just to be sure.

Actually this article doesn’t get to the point at all. It says that we are allowed to sell other items elsewhere but not the same. But what is the exact definition of other and of same.

In my opinion a Wordpress Theme isn’t the same as a HTML Template, even it has the same layout, same structure, same css, same js, same images, same content and same features in general. But the biggest and major difference IS the Base where it is build upon. At least many parts in the “template” needs to be replaced by PHP to make a “wordpress theme” out of it. Same for Shortcodes, Theme Options, Custom Post Types,..so it is NOT the same.

Or am I getting something wrong?

Having said that, the most important thing to do is to make sure that you explain the situation in detail, that way the support officer will be able to advise and help you in the best possible way
