i haven’t post anything yet.. but.. my only concern is about the percentage.. i feel like 36% or even 60% is not so fair to the artists.. fair would be 70%artist – 30% envato.. after all, this site is possible because of the artists works.. right.? i guess that’s the price we have to pay for getting a bigger possible market for our creations.. but 36% for non-exclusive is definetly unfair
Good post! Especially on these times of taugh changes which is going to affect many authors and we all have plethora of complaints. And I’m not being sarcastic, we literally bomb Envato with our concerns with recent changes and I think they also need some positive feedbacks about the good sides of working with Envato, in the end, Envato staff are people like us and every person likes and needs to hear positive feedbacks. As of us – lots of authors spend part of our lives here, probably and have lot of stories and experience to share
And here’s mine – I was able to pay all expenses of my PhD, buy the car I want, I’m going to vacation at least twice a year and I choose the destinations I like and not the ones that’s the least expensive of all options, managed to buy a snowboard with all equipment I had dreamt of, will soon buy a sporty motorcycle, and this list continues.
Now, sometimes we all hate Envato for not hearing our voices, for being too problematic on our theme approvals sometimes but the bottom line is – Envato gave many of us the life we could only dream of a few years ago. Of course we do our part, work hard but this platform made what we do a success and I’m wholeheartedly thankful for it.
Envato pays our bills. Enough said. Yes, we work our asses off but, let’s be honest, you can work hard and barely survive … true ?
Envato has it’s flaws, but everything does. It’s a great marketplace, and I hope it will stay this way. Collis and team made , to authors and buyers, beneficial marketplace thanks to very smart policy and marketplace organizing …
I just hope Envato won’t be sold and Collis and team will continue to lead the marketplace.
