Had an idea to add something different in terms of what is popular. Currently we can view items by highest sales or highest ratings.. but that is only added by buyers. What about a rating system, or “like” feature which everyone can use. Then we can see what files other authors like the most and also buyers. And have a separate section for, most “liked” items of the week. “Likes” will populate faster than purchases… so these pages could even change on a daily basis. And will highlight items that people actually “like” but that they aren’t necessarily purchasing.
A dude with no sales or bought items can Like a thing? In this case one can make multiple accounts and spam-Like a file. Or offer people something in return if they register to like things.
i had suggested something very similar a while ago
but only for buyers with more than x sales
Like feature is good.
But I would really like to see a ‘tweet’ feature. Wherein any one who is visiting an item can tweet about it. Something like ‘tweetThis’.
This is a good idea. But i would rather enjoy in seeing this feature added and responsible for work which is different and interesting.
Doesnt have to be item with many purchases but just item which is just different from all others, original and missed/underrated by buyers.
Something like featured item of the week but chosen by authors, not VH mods or revs. i guess this would inspire and let authors inhale some fresh air and productivity. this would increase people with new ideas because vh is missing them. I am not saying they are not here but its just few.
And those authors who have less sales would have a chance to get Pure Noncomercial Honour.
what about facebook like and twitter buttons?
it is one way then to promote someones work across the social networks
