Hi all :) ,

2 logos of mine were rejected, reason:
They were too detailed..
Could anyone tell me how a logo can be too detailed, as I personally think the more detail the better? :P

Here they are:

I simplified them and re-uploaded the simplified versions, thumbs up. But I think it’s a little bit sad if a logo needs to be simplified. :S

This topic is just to know or other authors also faced the same problem and what should I do in the future, continue making high detailed logos or better stick to the easy logos? This topic is not to argue about the reviewing process.

Cheers, Ruben

Hey Ruben,

great Logos, but in this Case … “Less is more”.

Reduce some of your Details like the Stripes at the Car or the Muscles of the Guy.

Simplicity is important with logos so more detail definitely isn’t always better! You have got potentially good logos there, but the body builder especially needs to be simplified.

Possibly a problem with the first one: the ‘elite’ bit looks like some freakish arm extension? Again repeating what the guys said above – reduce some of those details down.

Try, with the car, to separate the text from the logo completely as that would look nice as a mark on it’s own (the proximity to the words might not help your case). Post more! :)

Thanks for all the feedback people, I do really appreciate that! :)

@JackHowell: In the file I sent few hours ago (1st Revision) I did sent it seperate from the logo and also in another font, because I wasn’t sure about this font aswell. :P

The arm of the BodyBuilder is something I removed aswell, so it’s just the bodybuilder, who can be used as a mark itself aswell. ^^
I’ll keep you all updated about these 2 logos and if I’m facing more detail problems. :)

By the way, your own “m development” logo is good, nice and simple! :D

Hahaha thanks! :D Glad you like it.

Designing logos with marks/emblems is much more fun tho. :)
Planning to create one soon for myself aswell and also I’m not sure or “Mdevelopment” sounds good here.. It might not sound artistic enough.. :P

Ah well, Mdevelopment is the name of my company..

Ruben,

Great logos!

Simplicity is very important for the Branding , for this I recommend that when you do a logo think in factors like legibility from far and near, and the print on different materials of your logo.

Sorry for my bad English :D

Thanks for your reply and advise! :) I’m creating now logos that are more simple and less complex aswell as creating the complex and detailed ones, so I can offer both.

My Car Tuner logo got approved few days ago, this is the final version:

My BodyBuilder Elite logo is held for review for 5 days now, let’s do a thumbs up. :)
