come on guys, don’t freak out.envato is a qualified company. they are mainly (completely i’d say) involved in stock market so quantity (which brings money) will be always a step before quality (which is already pimped to high levels by the way)
i would invite all the authors to refrain from accusing envato of making a huge mistake by importing logos in the marketplaces.
they actually made a big move with the use of the word “logo”
think about it >
yesterday i googled “vector graphics” and as results i got envato and other websites
then i google “logo templates” and envato disappeared
today i google “logo templates” end as results i get envato and the other websites.
its marketing and complaining doesn’t help.
let’s accept this as a well pondered choice and move on.
That is the right attitude.

I agree, these new logo customers will probably buy other things from the site and so increase everyones sales.
Sorry for my rude comment.
I guess it was written because I was so disappointed of Envato.
Hope they will tweak the logo category, and not let it run out of hands.
I’m happy with the idea of many new customers coming to the site, but the current logos on sale do not give much respect to the importance of a logo. I see many 3D renders with gradients and small details, totally unusable for print work in black and white or with Pantone colors.
So the logos catagory, one which we could all have filled as a non-saturated market, has now been saturated by just one user, whos files have been flash accepted?
This, for me, has completely taken away any interet I had in the logos catagory to be honest.
What a pity.

Ok so, I figured I’d better go with a more mature reaction than my original one of ‘I was just sick in my mouth a little bit’. So, putting aside the whole debate about logos and stock for one second…
This can be fixed by soft rejecting the existing logos in batches of say 100 and having the author go through and add descriptions, add keywords and most importantly add file types etc. Once one batch is fixed, put it live again and move to the next 100.
I also think that where letters are involved, these should be bundled into one file with a higher value.
I think it should also be mandatory that authors show the logo in small and in black and white in their preview.
We should be aiming for a category which looks like its straight out of creattica or logopond, and this is a bad start.

+1 I agree with you man. This category is just starting, so is too early to start complaining about that, since I’m pretty sure this will not change anything

Hmm, I’m not happy with this category on Envato marketplace, but as You can see – 4 sales allready achieved and most customers don’t even know about this category yet.
This might the be reason to work on some pictograms with text just because of the high price. I’m a designer, but I also love money
and as someone said before – “If we can’t fight it, we should join it”.
Just forget that You are creating logo and it will be fine
