I will be working with a new client, who is a Small City, and they are looking for a new website. I was wondering if anyone had a web template that could be used for a City website. I would like it to be CMS (ie Joomla, Drupal) based, however is does not have to be. I would also like it to have drop down menus or expandable menus, since they have several departments.
Let me know what you guys have in your arsenal. I prefer not to have to start from scratch, but it may come to that. It is always nice to be able to start with a solid framework.
I am sure if you do a little bit of research on joomla themes you will find something that would be a good framework for you. I’d recommend joomla though I know our county uses it and it works very well with all the different departments and such…
Not sure of the budget but Movable Type 4 is pretty solid. Personally I’m not a fan of Joomla.

I’m not a fan of drupal or joomla. I’d prefer to use something more like Expression Engine, MODx, or Silver Stripe.

Silver Stripe is very good. Now we’re a bit OT here.

Naa, dullRAZOR mentioned CMS as a need. These are part of our arsenal.
I really like Silver Stripe too but haven’t had a whole lot of time to use it or projects for it yet. Soon though!

No, just that it has to be CMS based, didn’t care which one. dullRAZOR is looking for template recommendations.
Well you guys are actually right on track! I was actually just thinking about which CMS to use. I have actually been research CMS in order to decide which one I want to begin using primarily. I have done work in both joomla and drupal, however I have not been completely satisfied with them.
Silver Stripe and Movable type look promising, between the two which do you think would be the best way to go? If all else fails.. I will most likely go with Joomla, as the backend isn’t as clunky as drupal.
