@bluerooms – I use Vidahost (affiliate link) which are a small hosting company based in Maidenhead, been using them for 3 years with in excess of 500 sites with them.

You can also save 10% by using discount code ‘gareth10’.

I cannot recommend Vidahost enough, they started out as I joined them and they have just moved into their own purposely built datacentre :)

I used SiteGround.com for two years, and their services are awesome. Rare downtimes, and ultra-fast support. I’d recommend it to anyone!

What would you say are the coolest features of WPEngine? Something that distinguishes them from the more classic competition like MT/ASO/DO? Something that would warrant the higher price tag?

Honestly, I gave WP Engine a try on the single site basis for a friend and loved it, so decided to move my theme demos there as well. I’m not sure if there’s a single feature that puts them above MT/ASO/DO in my mind, but for me the overall speed, simplicity, uptime and support quality ticked all my boxes.

@TommusRhodus – wpengine premium plans start at $600. For me its not about the money but about the service. The site gets over 125K hits a month so need a dedicated server which can be faster. My current site is on Kentico but soon moving to a WP based site. I never hosted a WP site on a ded server before thus need your expert opinion.

I certainly wouldn’t call my opinion expert, but I pay the premium mainly for ease of use, all caching, CDN & everything is handled by WP Engine, so for each theme demo I make all I really need to do is build a new server, FTP my stuff up and import and SQL dump and it’s ready for TF. For someone who hates any form of server admin as I do, this is what makes it worth it for me.

Do you use WordPress multisite feature on the Personal plan or how do you have it set up?
