Is that the start of when “web developer” will become an obsolete position and everyone will lose their job? You know, like the guys that used to sit in phone routing rooms and were plugging lines in appropriate slot to get people to talk to each other?
I think there will be less “unskilled” Web Developers, and the standards will be higher to call yourself that.
I don’t have big faith in WordPress tools and services that spell WordPress “Wordpress” and call themes templates.
Not to mention that you can’t have a visual composer for a WordPress theme/plugin code simply because it requires thinking and creative solutions, so anything besides a most simple boilerplate is not doable and maintainable.
We still have to go a long way to the future to be able to do stuff like that.
Nothing new, tolls like this already exists and many more will come. Writing code means knowledge, easier to mantain and fix bugs because you decide how a piece of code works not the computer. Such software can create good code but to create something new still requires hand written code.
If you haven’t seen Artisteer, then you should. It is a software with the abilities to create Web templates and themes for different CMSs like WordPress Joomla, Drupal, etc. It is good enough but will never replace a real developer.
Its right here. http://forum.macaw.co/discussion/439/macaw-to-wordpress
