Have now a Macbook Pro

Happy with it. Not more to say.

Bought a Powerbook years ago, had kernel panic, motherboard fried. Lasted only 6 months. I sold it to a goofy apple addicted guy. If there is a problem on Mac OS I don’t know what the hell to do since it’s a creepy closed system which Jobs claims to be idiot proof. Ok, it’s still a nice jiggly os to work with.

Though one thing I learnt is that flash runs like crap on macs. Since I work a lot with flash and I need to compile it as fast as possible I sticked with my clunky PC. I have a quadcore for 2 years now still with the good old xp and no problems at all, it’s fast and everything works as it should.

The fact is if you’re not smart enough to avoid viruses it’s not the fault of the os. Avoid obvious junk mails. Stay away from porn sites et similia which are filled with malwares. Keep the system up to date and do a defrag once a week. Get a firewall and a good antivirus and your system will be safe enough. Ah, and never ever give your username and passwords to anybody… always check the urls you’re clicking. Even on Mac OS nobody can protect you from fishing.

Sure, Macs are top notch if all you do is dicking around and surfing porn. It suits very well for that. I might maybe give apple another try, but I’m already pissed off with my iPhone.

Perhaps we could just agree on the fact that they’re both computers and it’s a matter of preference, which sort you use.

But preferably curb the above kind of inflammatory remark, then maybe we can avoid yet another tedious Mac / PC flame war.

Why don’t one Videohive Mac user and one VH PC user make a 10 minute screencast to demonstrate the benefits of their respective OSs…. one for Snow Leopard, one for Windows 7.

I think this would be a useful thing to other users trying to make the decision about which to go for. I can handle the Mac side. Any takers for Windows 7?
