Just picked up my new MacBook Pro Retina today! It is absolutely amazing. Blazing fast and really nice thin and portable. It only weighs 4.46 pounds (2.02 kg) for the 15”. 16 GB memory and 768 GB flash storage!
Of course the Air is lighter with only 2.96 pounds (1,34 kg), but its only 13” and nowhere as powerful. Then of course there is the price difference

Portability vs. Speed. What’s your priority?
As much as I love the Air I prefer Pro, my MacBook never leaves my desktop.

RightHere saidif those are heavy graphics… haha
I guess its fine for programming, but I wouldn’t go with the Air if you do heavy graphics with illustrator and photoshop.

Hahahahahah +1
I have the 2011 13” Air and it’s perfect. It does everything I need when on the move or working from the couch then I have a custom built desktop for everything else. I was originally weighing up selling the Air and getting the Retina Pro but it didn’t seem worth it.

I had the 15” Macbook pro and now picked the new Macbook Air 13” and really loooove it – it’s amazing! Go for it!

Ivor saidThe MacBook Pro Retina 15” is actually thinner and slightly lighter than the MacBook Pro 13”

Get that if you want portability and power!

Last time I checked top 27” iMac had lower resolution, weaker internals and about the same price as RMBP . Also, 13” Retina MBP is confirmed for fall release (read: 13” Air with Retina, finally). I think it will lack dedicated video, and that’s about it for differences. As for me – 11” Air for portability and 15” Retina MBP for power seems like a right combo. Too bad they did not put Retina in this year’s Air’s, bad display is really the weakest part in there.
