Magento automatically placing orders without any payment.

Hey everyone, I finally got Magento up and running on my localhost and am playing around with some new themes, but I set everything up perfectly and added a test product for $1, and when I go to check out under a registered member, everything works great.

But…

After checking out, I get to the payment options, and select PayPal (I set up the PayPal Standard plan in the admin panel) and then click place order. The order automatically goes through in Magento even before I pay for it in PayPal.

Where should I go from here? I’m playing around with Magento because I will be using it for a client in the near future but want to get the hang of it first, but this seems to be the problem. Also, I tried money/check order but the same thing. Is this feature something like where the buyer will mail the money to me? How about the ‘Saved CC’? Would I need a merchant account for this?

There must be some type of validation setting using Paypal’s API .

Anybody else have any ideas?

Have you checked the payment method status?

I’m only going off the top of my head, but you can edit it via the settings.

Maybe set it to pending or something.

Also, are you playing with the PP sandbox or a live payment?
