How d’you guys manage updates to your themes? Do buyers get a notification when you submit a new version?

unfortunately no they dont, tweet it, make a newsletter(mail chimp works great),post an update notice in the item description, post an update notice in your item comments

I’m working a dashboard widget into my themes, so people get notices there :)

Yes that´s the best option till envato build some kind of notification with the api or something like that. I guess i saw some thread about that some weeks ago….

Anyway, i think the only way the an update theme system could be usefull is if we start to make parent themes that work with children ones, so the updates will be made over the parent….

I saw discussions about this somewere in the past weeks too.

nice but not all themes here are WP versions ;)This only works for WP but not for html.

The best way to do this is to tell buyers to check out the item page for updates.

I do hope Envato has plans to push update notices via the WordPress API to the Dashboard Updates SubPanel…I’m sure many of you have updated Twentyten because you were notified with a badge in this subpanel.

TF users deserve a better updating experience and I think they deserve it this way!

Anyone else agree or disagree?
