That’s be great. I had this though a while ago, this can be private for each author to see what kind of buyers they have i.e. age, profession. It can be made private for each author so the competitor’s won’t get the info. Anyway, really good idea! + 1

Good to see everyone is digging the idea, was hoping some Envato staff would chime in though, paging Jeffrey…

An addition to the motion…

I’d like stats for how many hits on each of my items, vs. sales of the item and time spent on the page, what page they came from and left to, and preferably which hits were sales and which weren’t.

The primary reason for this is I have files that I thought were quite useful but haven’t sold for crap (in fact I’ve used them as parts of projects that do sell very well, so I know they’re useful) So I dunno if it’s low turnover on users seeing it to actually buying it, in which case I want to delete it to take out the trash. But if it’s just that few people are seeing it, then there’s no harm in leaving it up, because it’s not cluttering anything then, and they still sell every great once in a while. It would also help greatly for cross promotion to know what items sell best per view, rather that which one’s just sell best, that way I can direct cross promotion traffic to them :)

Secondary usefulness is doing demographics for what types of files get looked at most, bought most per being looked at, etc, which can help in knowing what files to make.

And FlashDen could charge us 5$ for that service. This way the costs of developing it would be worth it.

Hi guys, This is a really interesting idea! :-) Whoever said we will be unlikely to release really detailed info is probably right, just because that’s quite sensitive info to release and all someone would need to do would be become an author to access it. But, we should be able to come up with something to give you guys more info for creating new files that appeal to the market. I’ll give it some thought, and will pass on this idea to the team too. Thanks guys! :-) Cy

Cool, my initially idea was to have a voluntary survey, and not to include any real sensitive data. Maybe the info would only be made available to authors that have made at least 5 sales or maybe just have us sign an NDA . But any info would be great. Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.
