A client of mine wants to open an online store, a marketplace. A marketplace where logged-in people can sell&buy hand-made objects (jewels, toys, etc).

I mean: not a store where a single store sells its products, but a marketplace, something a bit like TF, but with physical goods.

I am not so good at e-commerce solutions, what should I recommend? I do not even know what to search to find such a marketplace….

etsy.com looks nice, quite close of what the client is looking for. In fact, he wants a website like http://www.breslo.ro/

I thought there is a magento template here on TF I could use for that….

If you can sort magento out for that. You will be a god.

OpenCart + any of the multi-vendor extensions could do the job. However, I am not really sure it can be done with simple 30-40 USD theme.
