Hi Buddies,
Do you know why 3d max camera with a roll over 90° output to AE is wrong?
Cheers,
3Ddym
These two applications have different coordinate systems. But isn’t there a button to fix that in max2ae?
I mean it should automatically rotate the coordinate system so that import to AE was correct.
how do you import the data? max2ae or the “new” state set connection?
i’m not sure if that could fix your problem but i had the same problems with a target camera from max, but it’s a year ago and seemed to be a bug, i converted the targeted to a normal cam in max and baked the keys within max. that solved my problems…
with max2ae i never had this problems…
greetings simlos
To be in safe side, bake the camera, light everything in max,. and then export.
RPF is pretty good when exporting from Max to AE, at least I haven’t ever had problems with it.

Yeah rpf is good but thing is, it only exports camera parameters. I need to export object position too.
hi 3ddym,
sorry for the delayed answer. i don’t use max2ae anymore, i used it at a company i was working for 2 years ago, and we could even export vray cams without problems. actually i use the new direct connection from 3dsmax which was implemented in max2012 , so which version you are using?
to bake animation i always uses a script from scriptspot called “bake”
– i hope this will help solving your problem. cause its always difficult if you don’t know the scene
good luck
simlos
