hi 3ddym,

sorry for the delayed answer. i don’t use max2ae anymore, i used it at a company i was working for 2 years ago, and we could even export vray cams without problems. actually i use the new direct connection from 3dsmax which was implemented in max2012 , so which version you are using?

to bake animation i always uses a script from scriptspot called “bake” :) – i hope this will help solving your problem. cause its always difficult if you don’t know the scene :)

good luck

simlos

Hi Simlos,
Thanks for your feedback, I’m using max 2010. Max 2012 have inbuilt exporting system?

I think I should try scriptspot bake now :)

Cheers,
3Ddym

yes it came with the max 2012 subscription addons. and its bugfixed in 2013 but still having some strange behavior and needed workarounds. but it has a direct connection to ae. you also can change stuff in ae and update your max scene from ae. position of planes, nulls etc. the imported stuff is baked every keyframe check google for state sets within max. they try to improve mograph demands, cause c4d is miles away actually.

greetings simlos

Thanks simlos for your great feedback, I think I should try max 2012, the thing is I don’t like the material editor in max 2011 and above versions, :) it looks very complicated, but Should try about this now.

Thanks Again,
3Ddym

I can’t say if new material editor is better because for my needs old one is more than enough.
You can choose between old and new one:
In material editor choose: Modes, and than compact (old) or slate (new). :)

as dorde said, you can still use the old one, like dorde and me :D i only use the slate if the materials get complicated to assemble them. did the bake script fixed your problems?

I used the bake script but still I’m having the problem. I think it’s better to reinstall win7 and see.
