Difficult question.
What is official, practical role of “follow” button on marketplaces?
Following 1000 users increase sales? Okay, but if all my followers follows me only for advertising, propably never see my work in followed authors box at homepage.
What is Your opinion in this matter?

Only practical meaning is that you can see recent items from followed authors on homepage I think. At least, this is the only reason I am following authors.

But actually, specified space for updates is very small and not so productive when you follow more than f.e. 20 authors. Then you can miss a lot updates. In most cases you can not remember everyone’s names and just go to his profile and see what’s new with him. This is a problem in such a short collection point.

If you haven’t noticed, there’s a left-right arrows that enables you to browse through all items.

Yes I’m but it would be more easer to click on, let’s say: more, and then scroll down like when you’re browsing regulary for items.

I think this is good idea.
Plus newsletter (weekly for example) with list of new items from followed users.
Or any other feature to increase follows functionality.
