I want to move my stuff to a new hosting company, i thinking about MediaTemple, this looks very good but i have one question, the gridservice plan has 1,000 GPUs to use so my question is there anybody that host there stuff by MediaTemple and can tell me if this is enough or is it normal that you have to buy new GPU ’s a month?

Thanks

MarkDijkstra : It’s more than enough and I can’t even fill it half with 120.000 unique and above traffic. So yeah, you’ll be all fine with 1000 gpus ;)

I’ve had the same experience. 6+ years on (mt) with varying degrees of traffic across 30+ sites on the same account and I haven’t even scratched the GPU /Bandwidth on their basic GS service.

+1 for MediaTemple.

I think Tuts is at MediaTemple, but I think the Marketplaces are at a Rails-specialist host (EngineYard?). And they use Amazon S3 for small files/images. And probably a whole bunch of others as well lol

I considered hosting my website(s) at MT as well, but was turned down because of the price.. I’m still young, so it was a little high.. Now I’m hosted at this* (quite unknown), which is a fine host for me ;)

I host at MT and also Hostdime – (DV at MT plus reseller and DV at hostdime) I have been with hostdime for about 7 years and they are simply superb – MT is good but it’s image more than anything – hostdime offer the same quality hardware and I think better service levels plus cheaper.

Just my 2 cents.
