If all of the files seem to be missing as you wrote, then most likely it’s an issue mentioned in the first reply in this thread – wrong (unzipped) files uploaded to your server. It’s a common mistake that many users make, looking at the number of complaints on this forum alone. It’s extremely unlikely that someone would make a theme with so many files missing available to download.

Oh i don’t know i assumed and granted that as a species logic prevails that when zipping a batch file you would only have those that are required for installation and nothing else. The rest of the files would or perhaps might have been an option with an explanation to the end user as to why there are several folders accompanying the theme. Then again, how about we reverse the charge and begin charging faulty themes from authors per hour wasted. Wouldn’t that stream line the online so called authors and their level of professionalism.

15+- odd sites per month and you think i have the time and patience required to go through what should have been a “plug n play” process as i have been accustomed to. I only opted for this theme as it was referred to by the customer who happened to be looking through templates. In short, i wasted a solid 5hrs over a theme that should have been 40% completed and ready for delivery by Tuesday afternoon.

But i guess such is life and lessons are there to be learnt from.

Tried to get in contact with the Envato Support..?
if other purchasers had no any issues about missing files then I think you had an issue with your download.

I had a glance at the link you provided but since i lost hours with the current theme in setting it up i needed to put it aside and move onto another site so as i wont fall behind on the delivery dates ive signed. Sad is and utterly disappointing is all i can say.

Wow.

I’d like to stick up for authors, as I’m really tired of seeing posts like this all the time. So I’d like to point out a few things:

  • Support is optional here at Envato. None of the authors are required to give support, but the ones who do so give it out of the kindness of their heart.
So demanding support – as well as support within a few hours (Remember! Not everybody is in the same timezone as you are!) is ludicrous and unprofessional.
  • Your attitude to purchasing a file as cheap as $40 is completely unnecessary and uncalled for. How would you like it if someone attacked you the way you’ve attacked this author? Kindness and patience goes a long way.
  • If you had read the page that cosmincotor linked you, I believe you would’ve resolved your issue yourself. As prezzz wrote, this is a common question that gets asked a lot and this is 99.9% of the time, the solution to the question.
  • Take a chill pill and allow yourself more time on a project if you’re currently delivering that urgently.

Think next time you go to the public forum of a marketplace this large to [removed by mod] about a file you’ve spent next-to-nothing on, which the author has spent hours/weeks building.

pixelnourish, easy with the language pack mate! I understand your frustration, but he is a buyer, this is a forum, and he is asking for help! Last I checked, that was the purpose of a public forum right? It’s not the word you used that I removed, it’s called calling out for help exactly because of the points you mentioned.

1. The author doesn’t give support, others do, for freelance rates.
2. The problem of his attitude is not of yours or mine, if his attitude is in anyway unpleasant or abusive as you say , report the post and support will take care of the matter. Do not take matters into your own hands, and do not attack another member! We’re all educated grown people here! Neutrality and impartiality will go a long way along with politeness and patience! :)
3. The buyer apparently did read the post made by cosmin, and clearly stated that did not solve the issue!

Again, please remain polite, no reason to get angry! It’s a forum, people come here to get help not get kicked out! :)

gfour, it is true though, authors are not obliged by Envato to give support for the items sold. That’s exactly why they are called stock items, customization is not free! In case the item did not install properly, or the error is a part of the item you purchased, you are entitled to a refund. Simply open a ticket, and allow support up to 7 days to take care of your request! They will investigate the issue at hand and get back to you if the terms I mentioned above are met!

If however, the issue comes from not having the required experience ( no offence intended ) to use such a file, then I suggest hiring a freelancer to help you install the item and set it up! You can request such help on the forums! Most authors do reply to questions and have detailed support manuals, but as pixelnourish mentioned in the post above, chances are that you and the author of the file are not from the same time zone, and furthermore, it’s a weekend! Maybe the author is taking it off! Patience is a virtue and a must! :)

Enabled I normally agree with you but not this time. pixelnourish I admire your restraint as I’ve read through this thread and wouldn’t have been so kind. There is a way to be frustrated without being rude and the threadstarter was clearly not. A better toned request would have had other members falling over themselves to help.

I’m sorry mate, responding to fire with fire will only lead to nothing! My suggestion to everyone. Remain impartial and polite, or don’t step in! As my suggestion went to pixelnourish, if you feel the conversation is insulting, report the post, or flag it for staff reply, and leave it! It’s better to stay out of something than just get in there for ranting on and on until the topic gets locked!

Edit I’ve edited the topic title, please do not use caps lock!

Really? I’m now the bad guy here? You think that is me responding with fire to fire?! Hah.

Whatever. Seriously… whatever.

Sir/Madam i am not here to pat anyone’s back The explicit agreement comprised of a financial transaction. That part of the agreement was upheld on my end and sadly was not upheld or was upheld in manner that to me seems primitive to a “a network as this”

What’s really sad, is that whole “project” as this is the first stage comprises of 15+ other sites all with intention of complete theme buy out purchases. Do you now see what i refer to as “projects”.

Nevertheless, i meant not to discredit any individual for any reason as an entity, but i will downgrade the level of professionalism when one refers to it as “support”. Although i should factor in that perhaps the author had a real life emergency of some sort and was unable to come into contact, that i understand and wish that no such event has occurred.

“Think next time you go to the public forum of a marketplace this large to [removed by mod] about a file you’ve spent next-to-nothing on, which the author has spent hours/weeks building.”

edit You are aware that the internet has and is bursting at the seems with networks such as this and if not larger ones. As for the point of freelancing, heck i used to be a freelancer via the known site many many yeas ago and today it is I who has multiple freelancers across the world in various “time zones” who are being paid healthy and promptly on a monthly basis.
