Please, forgive me in advance but i really like to know, what is the reason if somebody follow me. What is the advantage (ok i know the advantage not a good word) if somebody became my follower. Im just realized i have 9 followers already, but i dont know why, what is the reason. I know only 2 person over there why are they follow, but the other 7? No idea. Do they buyers or they just found my comments cool or might be the opposite? Is that good i have followers and if it yes then why? I wanted to ask them or send a hello, but i was thinking about if they are started to follow me, why not they told me what is the reason? No im not saying that i have a problem or something with this. Not at all. Moreover i have that feeling this is something good and positive thing, i just dont know, why…?

If you have 9 followers you can be quite sure that at least 7 of them like your work and are following you to see what types of items you create.

I’ve got 170+ followers which means that I have at least 130 (other 40+ are staff and other people I know) that follows me just because they like my work. The more followers one got the more exposure one’s items get and the more exposure an item get, the more sales it gets.

In short, followers are potential customers who might or might not end up buying your items. But one can always be certain that if you have many followers the items one create gets free exposure. Which ain’t a bad thing! ;)

Hope this explained it! :)

Thank you Patrik for the detailed answer. But i have check those followers and they seems like more authors than buyers. Somehow, i receive the nice comments are from authors rather than buyers. But do not misunderstand im really glad if i have followers, i just wanted to know also what is the polite way to make a reaction for this…

I have noticed a direct correlation with the more followers I have, the quicker (and more) sales I generate on new items.

You can tell a lot of the time that a users is following you who is a customer because they tend not to fill out a profile / profile picture, as they’ll buy your files then follow you ;)

Interesting post… is there any way to increase followers politely? I guess just to keep adding to one’s portfolio with usable stuff.

I also wonder if creating a variety of items is a disadvantage than just sticking to one kind of item and specialising?

If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

I ask my customers to follow me inside my readme.txt files and at the bottom of all my preview images :)
