I don’t see there being an issue with a minimalistic design, so long as you had enough of the styling covered and shown on example pages – people like to see paragraphs, haeadings, images etc. styled even if the design itself is minimal.

i say go for it!

Hey I think it is off to a great start. I am partial to minimal myself ;) The lines are clean and content separated, only thing I think is the sidebar kinda fights with the main section drawing my eyes, maybe a little thinner?
