Missing Style.css

Hi I Just bought a theme after payment and then downloaded it and installed it using the wp. Same error “missing style.css” Then I unzipped the theme and via FTP uploaded the theme folder . Now what?

Nothing show up on the home screen/WP page. There is nothing I can activate or have it running on the user end. Looks like nothing happened.

Pls help

Inside your main downloaded zip you should have instructions detailing how to first – activate the theme – then setup etc If you are having difficulty with that I recommend contacting the author either via their profile page, the comment area of the item or whatever support direction is supplied in your documentation.

But I got it downloaded from the download link provided in the account. So how come its not the right link. Please let me know from where to download the correct theme then??

Hello,

The download you have is the right one, the problem is themeforest packs there themes because there are more than just the “theme” files included in the download, you need to unzip the file you download from themeforest first, the proper file that you should install are located inside.

The folder’s name which has style.css file is “showtime_v3.3” Is that the one you are talking abt?

I tried everything but still its missing style.css file. When I upload it directly to the “wp-content/themes” folder, wp does not show up any thing installed.

Is there a way i can provide the webmaster my wp login details and get it done

There should be clear instructions provided in your download on how to install your theme – if you have difficulties you will need to contact the author of the file either by their profile page, the comment area of the item, or if there are specific support instructions supplied inside the pre-mentioned documentation.

I am having the same problem The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Very old thread but look Here : Install the RIGHT folder not the complete zip download from TF.
