Photodune is a great marketplace. I’m very proud to have a few images in it, while others started with 40 thousand the first day.

edit: this is not a complaint. Ohhh, well, wait, yes… this is actually a complaint.

Are you familiar with other microstocks? You won’t make a living without thousand of photos, it’s nothing like making themes in terms of quantity, Yuri Arcus has more than 80 employees dedicated to photo production, and I’m not sure if he earns significantly more than our Themeforest Top 3

^ My complaint is not about number of items allowed, but the way Envato decided to procedure on the begining of that marketplace. I think it was somehow unfair for many authors, some of us regular authors on other marketplaces here. Anyway, too late for discussion, i’m afraid. The point is that PD is not growing at all, i don’t say is because of this, but when something starts without sense is not a good signal.

I don’t think PD was intended to become industry leader, but serves as a good filler for these marketplaces. It occupied too much of development resources of other leading marketplaces like TF which is a sad story. Also I wonder how long it will show the lable “beta” which is neither going to be intuitive for bulk buyers nor sounds gradual improvements.
Btw, the total numbers showed in the footer supposed to convey total of one marketplace items. Adding photodune numbers makes it less helpful. An angry TF buyer may assume wrongly about quality/quantity gauge here.

+1
Maybe some additional info for each marketplace would be helpful:
