Envato’s newest Ruby Developer, Lucas, has recruited all the guys in the Melbourne office to participate in Movember.
Movember is a mustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men’s health.
We thought this was such a good idea that we’ve decided to run a little Movember fundraiser here on the marketplaces too! Grow a mo in November and post it on the forums, and you could not only raise money for charity, but win a coveted Mo Badge. The best mo will win the Gold Mo badge – the only one given out this year!
Here’s how it works. First, take a photo of yourself pre-mustache. Begin growing your mo, then at the end of November post up a pre-mo and post-mo photo in a forum thread we’ll create towards the end of November. For every member that grows a mo and puts a photo up on the marketplaces, we’ll donate AU$10 to Movember Australia (up to a maximum of AU$1000).
If you really want to get into it, why not register with Movember online and raise some money for Movember too! It’s a great cause, and I’ve been told that all men secretly want to look like Tom Selleck! For some mo-spiration, check out this awesome site.
Finally, every member who grows a mo will receive a special Mo badge, and the coolest mo, as chosen by Collis, will win the coveted Gold Mo – and only one of these will be given away this year!
