Not sure if this is discussed before, so I apologize is it has :)

Ive just noticed that when someone buys an item with multi use license, it still registers as one sale. Just wondering, shouldnt that be 3 instead, since the buyer has payed 3x the normal amount?

Clinton said the following:

In the case of all multiple sales to one author, including the new multi-licences, we only award one sale for the sales count. This is to prevent authors from manipulating the sales count to get into the popular list. On the item page we show how many total sales. Eg. 100 sales (to 95 users). However, in this count the multi-licence only counts as one sale. I hope this clears everything up. 8-)

This makes no sense to me, but oh well…...

By the way, has anybody here had a 50x sale yet?

I thought that you should have had at least one of them ;)

I bought 50 cents for a quarter once. But that was when a dollar was a dime.

On-topic: Why would a web services license (50x the price) be 50 sales? It’s one sale, but you’re selling them a license that’s more expensive to be able to do more things. It just happens to be exactly 50 times the price of the single-use license.

Yeah, I thought the way Clinton put the explanation was pretty sensible.

Ditto on the confusion… but whatever. I’m not sure anyone’s selling enough of the multiple use licenses for it to matter. They exist as a way for freelancers or studio’s to pick up multiple usage rights for a very affordable cost, which is cool – I’m pretty excited that I’ve sold a few so far.

I’ve sold a handful of the x10 licenses in the last month, but no x50’s as of yet.

I’d love to know what products have made the x50 sale though – that’s pretty awesome to hear a few have been picked up.
