I’d make it half the length or under. That way, you can really keep the best quality stuff and leave the other stuff. At the moment, your reel is showing me quantity, but it doesn’t have loads of variety. Focus on the parts where your design and animation is in the foreground.
There are some really nice pieces on there, but there are also some parts that are repetitive and less exciting. Overall, I got the impression that it was rather struggling to make the distance.
There’s no shame in a 40 second reel. Especially when you’re starting out.
