I’m about to upload my first real attempt at getting an item accepted on ThemeForest. I need your crual, straight to the point feedback on this.
I say “real attempt” because i had uploaded a landing page about 4 months ago, but looking back at it it was wayyyyy, wayyyy under the required standards for TF.
This time i have the feeling i may be closer to these standards, at least i hope.
The file is not fully ready yet – i need to work on cross-browser compatibility and tweak some CSS in the responsive formats – but’s it’s nearly there. It validates with no error on W3.
It looks good on Chrome, FF and Safari, but it looks completely messed up on IE8 (header and footer color gone, rounded images (border-radius) not working.. Any tips on fighting the big old IE??
Anyway, here’s the link to the demo site.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
It looks clean, and seems to be a good start. Images in the slider don’t go with the dull blue colors. The light blue borders on both the header and footer looks unnecessary to me. Overall, the template looks good to me, and I can see it become much better as you keep working on it. Oh also, I check with IE8 during my development. Validate your page first though.
BTW, I didn’t see realize you were from Swiss. I now have an extremely high (and biased) expectations from you. Love the Surf Shack logo.
I think nav its quite plain but i like ..
Thanks for the input!
I was indeed trying to go for a simple, minimal navigation.. too plain?
Thanks again, i’ll try work some more on it, but at the moment i’m stuck with lots of IE issues that i don’t know where to start with :s
For Correcting IE8 Issues 1. Use html5shim.js in your head section for solving header and footer problems
2. Either use Jquery for hover effect , or Keep your Hover Div within tag then use css
3.IE8 Does not support rounded Corners , else you can Use css-pie.js for solving that too
4. IE 8 will not support Box-shadows, you can reach close by having borders with low opacity on hovers.
Wow, thank you @Ameh for the useful tips, this is great!
Thanks guys, Envato community rocks!
Hard rejection—> I think it needs improvement indeed! IE8 adaptation is really not cool
How about now? I have made many changes to the template, and i believe this is much better now. I still didn’t work on some cross-browser issues, but maybe you can let me know if i’m headed in the right direction?
