First thing I’d like to introduce my elf properly I’m an art director with 15+ experience in the graphic design field.

and when i get a very strange explanation to the rejection that reflects a pure personal opinion like ” Reason: The design concept here looks interesting but it can look even better if worked on more. The background and colors add an interesting feel to the flyer design although the typography is a bit off and it makes the flyer look a bit simplistic. Think of improving the typography layout and style a bit more and work on making the design more attractive.”

I’m really offended from this reason because first I’m not here to get an advise from a reviewer and thanks god I’m not back to school!

If the item meats the global or professional standard the reviewer must approve it without giving me a lecture about graphic design!

I’m really disappointed and i need someone from graphic river support team to reply on this thread.

I’m not a reviewer and I’m not a staff member.

Usually if you post a preview of your reject item, us community members gladly offer our point of view.

Some reviewers just copy and paste the rejection reason. In some cases (such as yours) they actually offer their opinion about why the item was rejected.

It’s really hard to follow up and change an item with just a standard rejection notice.

When a reviewer offers additional information regarding why the item was rejected, we try to use that to our advantage on how we can make the item better and acceptable.

I feel you when it comes to being told what’s wrong here or there, but we try to take it with a grain of salt and make the item better.

Would like to see the item if possible.

Best of luck.

EDIT: A soft reject is just as good as accepted with some changes. You’re almost there.

First of all chill out mate, it’s not the end of your carrier here :)

Unfortunately, no-one from support will answer your question and concerns here on the forum. If you need additional explanation about the rejection, send them a ticket and tweet a ref. number to get the mail back faster.

However, you can always upload your image of your flyer here and perhaps someone will help you with some suggestions :)

Anyway, don’t lose your temper, everyone knows that feeling well , so chin up

Well, from what I would change is the layout of the text.

At the top: change the “FALLEN ANGELS Presents” to a 2 line item

Maybe add more realistic info the the event itself. Like; Address, Times, Price, website URL.

a few splashes of subtle color might help of be in order.

Overall: I think it’s a great Base and Background that just needs to pop more.

I’m sure others will chime in to offer you more suggestions.

EDIT: also maybe look at some of the Top Selling Flyer items and look at what they’ve done to make their items stand out.

I like the background feel. A little bit over bright but I like. About the typo. The reviewer was right in this case. Try to use pairing fonts. Look at top authors to understand what reviewer has in mind about the typo.

Also you can include in your item archive a second version with colors on background.

Personally, I like the color scheme of the design, however, if I were you I would try to make typo stand out a little more, this way it kind of blends in too much. Another thing I would try to do is to just make the whole flyer a little bit more crowded, try to add in some icons, little bit more text, QR code, etc.

Sometimes, there is nothing wrong with the soft reject though. Best of luck and let us know the final outcome.

It’s tough not to take design criticism personally, even for the most seasoned veterans, but always keep in mind the reviewers just want to help you get sales in the end =)
