i see this ona few myspace profiles, and i need to do it myself.

Ive looked at a few profiles and they are dragging the info in from an xml file to create the events.

but how is that xml file getting generated from myspace?

is there a fil on flashden that does this?

or is someone willing to take it on?

Cheers B

The xml file doesn’t get generated from myspace. It is on the server where the swf file is located. You have to have a cross domain xml set up on the server as well to allow myspace to access the xml file.

I used this XML News Slide for this myspace page.

thanks for the heads up big.

Is there any chance either you or someone else could elaborate any further as to how i might go about accomplishing this?

more specifically how i get myspace to access this external xml file etc.

maybe there are some resources on this i can read somewhere?

many thanks for your patience.

Brads

Hi there—I worked on an app called SyndicateUs.org that provides this functionality. Have a look at http://syndicateus.org/suIdeas/IdeaHome.php.

i would love to see a Flash Calendar that pulls events from Myspace, or say, Google Calendar.

Most bands I’ve worked with use both to keep track of shows, and having them update another calendar on the website has always seemed redundant.

Would love to see something like this.

This reminds me of another thread that I started:

http://www.flashden.net/forums/thread/events-list-for-band-tours/4750?page=1#39802

If something like that could be built, with the data COMING in from Myspace, well, that would be friggin fantastic.

Does Myspace even have an API !?
