Hello, I currently want to find a themeforest member for creating a wordpress theme that will pass themeforest moderation. That means that I need a designer and coder. The theme will be for personal blogs. I understand that a high-qualified specialist must be paid well. So name your approximate budget.

Hi there joinglobalnet,

Just a word of warning, if you’re planning on hiring someone to produce a WP theme for you to sell here on ThemeForest, then you’re going to need to also figure out a support & updates policy with your developer.

I’m unsure of your skill set so you may be able to handle this, but support & updates is a really big job & a WP theme will fail on here pretty fast if you don’t have the skills or personnel to support your theme :)

Good luck!

Tommus is right BUT surely it’s not or sale on here?

you need design and code so the full package and why would anyone do that (unless for a BIG budget) when if they are going to put that much work in could just sell it for themselves and take full revenue?

I understand the importance of the support and I think % (will be discussed further) from each sale of the theme.

Sorry but I second Alex’s question – why would we design and code a theme why would be not just sell it ourselves for 100% of profits (minus TF cut)?

You would need to be offering to pay enough to theoretically cover a few hundred/thousand sales which is going to be a lot.

What is it YOU bring to this opportunity or partnership?

Thanks

If you assume that he will pay for 500 sales, I am sure that many authors would take that opportunity as you get a safe cash and when selling on your own, no profit is guaranteed.

From that angle, it would make sense for a dev.

That said, people with proposals like this have nowhere near that budget :)

Am I right in this maths then:

Let’s assume $50 for the theme (helps my maths!), take 70% of that for exclusive author rate = $35.

So $35×500 sales = $17,500???

Sounds about right if you consider that they’re after full design & development. I mean, no-one would pay that without a guarantee on sales returns, but imagine if you were the lucky guy that commissioned Avada :D

Either way, this doesn’t have legs, I think it’s just someone looking to make a quick buck and not fully understanding the process of Themeforest, which is understandable to a degree I guess :)
