I also had the same question, I guess VH should have something like this:
What if they want 7 licences?

+1 That’s why a shopping cart needed. It will simply work for any marketplace, any kind of license and any number of items / licenses.

You don’t need a shopping cart to include a quantity field.

Tier pricing doesn’t require fixed quantities—just levels at which the price changes.

Yes, a quantity field will fix certain buyer’s need. But not all; when a buyer purchases multiple different items with range of prices like $5, $10, $40 etc, they wont be fine with individual transactions for each item for such small amounts.

By observing my statements page, it looks like most of the buyers doesn’t go through “deposit” pain neither. So a shopping cart would be a great service for those majority of buyers who doesn’t prefer deposits. It could be a great feature even along with conditions like $20 minimum limit.

I completely agree that we need a shopping cart and/or quantity fields, as well as bulk license purchasing and dev/multi-use licensing.

But to address the original question, the buyer should just make single deposit large enough to cover all 10 purchases. Then they just click Buy 10 times (and confirm 10 times) and pay from their deposits. They save $2 on each purchase and only need to go through the PayPal process once.

This is still not a good user experience, but it’s a lot better than the original issue of needing to pay via PayPal 10x.

:)

+10 for the shopping cart from both buyer and author perspectives.

How about an input field like “Enter the number of licences you want to purchase: 15”, and the price would update according to the number of licences selected, that shouldn’t be that hard to code.

Yes but the shopping cart would be better in my opinion. That way you can make yourself a list of things you are looking to buy, add them as you notice them in your shopping cart, then check them out again if you can’t decide.

Also it gives you a better overview on how much does all the shopping cost.
