I purchased the AuthorHQ plugin and can’t get beyond the purchase verification stage that needs to be completed before it allows me to actually install it. After entering my details and clicking the “Verify” button (or whatever its name is) I get stuck like this http://i.stack.imgur.com/DCjyU.png ... it keeps loading endlessly without going to the next step of the installation.

I’ve also tried to install it on my localhost (XAMPP) and it worked perfectly there, which means that the problem here is my VPS (my server), not the plugin or the server to which mine tries to connect to in order to validate my purchase code.

Anyone had the same problem before? Any idea why this would happen?

Like many others here(including me).

BTW. The minimal version of PHP to run is 5.3, check it. Probably this is ilegal but have youtried to hack the code or to contact the author?

I moved from AuthorHQ to this route and it’s much smoother sailing. I can vouch for both resources DistinctiveThemes mentioned as being very high quality. Plus customizing bbPress to your own needs is very easy since it’s using standard WordPress features like custom post types.

@DistinctiveTheme: Thanks for posting those links. I’ll give bbpress a try and hope it’s gonna be better.

I got PHP version 5.4.17 so it should be okay, and I’ve contacted the author a few days ago and haven’t heard from him yet.

It just simple forum using custom post type. I use it for my inner forums (me and my clients) and never test the envato API features. Integrating with custom WP theme really easy (I dont know about other buyers, but for me it was easy because I’am have experience with WP a lots), it seems adopt the templating system from woocommerce.

I used this once. Worked for a couple weeks then went to crap. I’d suggest a quick forum or email support system – currently using Desk for our work, it’s more cost but really worth it from my experience.
