hey guys i just seen this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9igua31NLIY&feature=player_embedded and would love to know what programs was used to create this it is actually so good and where i can find tutorials to help me with it becuase i want to create something like this but a chocolate factory instead and the doors of the factory open and it does that falling thing into footage of a event
I would hazard a guess that at least you would be looking at C4D , Maya or 3Ds Max for the 3D elements. After Effects for the keying and particular effects and grading. Something like Boujou or PFTrack for the camera tracking and maybe Final Cut or Premiere for the editing. Plus you would need some experience in lighting, filming and capturing live camera footage.
If you don’t already know these software packages then good luck! There’s a lot to learn. In terms of tutorials, look up those individual software packages. I don’t think you will find one tutorial covering absolutely everything you need in order to achieve what you are asking for.
i have the footage of an event i just want to know what software to creat the people and the gates and the book at the start
Correct me if I’m wrong but the software needed to create the people would be… people, filmed on a green screen and keyed using AE or some other keying software.
The gates and the book could be created in C4D or other 3D software, whichever you would feel happier working in.
yeah true they would how about when the doors to the factory open and you fallthrough like space sorta thing what should i use for that also whats some good tutorials for the gates and book
No offense, but this sounds like Mission Impossible. You would need to learn tons and tons of stuff just to get started. It’s like a college on it’s own, not to mention the hardware/software expenses. If you really want to dig into this start here: http://library.creativecow.net/tutorials/cinema4d/modeling

@Gozza, You want to make something similar to this alone,I bet lots of people worked on the Video you’ve shown us.
If you truly want and have the patience to make it,then I recommend you to watch some basic to advanced 3D Tutorials.
SmudgeThis’s and Farley_Design’s Suggestions are fairly enough
Good Luck and have a nice day,
